Hi, I’m Rashid. I’m a senior Computer Science student at King Saud University. These are some projects I’ve worked on, both at university and in hackathons.

AceWallet

AceWallet is a wallet prototype that helps you pick the card with the best cashback or rewards for what you’re buying. The website also shows ideas for comparing cards and keeping track of subscriptions.

AceWallet was selected for Tuwaiq Academy’s Amad Hackathon from thousands of applicants.

Samid

Samid detects drones from their sound. I trained and fine-tuned the audio transformer, worked on data augmentation, and built the website that shows the detections.

The project was selected from a pool of over 13,000 students and presented to the governor. It was later incubated by GADD.

Misbar

Company knowledge gets scattered across files, and finding a document is only part of the problem. I built Misbar to bring that information together: search across connected sources, trace how people and projects relate, and spot when documents disagree. It respects file permissions and keeps answers linked to their sources. I built the full application, from document processing to the interface.

Misbar won 1st place at Buildathon, organized by Riyadh Valley.

Farras

Farras is a project on detecting AI-generated Arabic text. In our first study, we compared several approaches, including character n-grams, linguistic features, and AraBERT.

Punctuation, spacing, and word patterns turned out to be useful clues. Combining character n-grams with linguistic features gave us 93.16% accuracy in the internal evaluation and 86% on a separate set of 348 samples. The report covers what these patterns tell us and where the approach falls short.

MultiGuard

MultiGuard is my team’s graduation project at King Saud University. We combine text, images, and image-forensic features to detect fake news and manipulated content.
